HOG ’26 Tournament Rules

Register for the upcoming Himalayan Open Golf Tournament in Denver, CO?
August 8th and 9th – Two days of amazing golf with purpose and cause.
1. Handicap Rules
1.1 Use of Handicap
Handicaps will be used for Net scoring purposes only.
1.2 Handicap Verification
All players must have a verifiable handicap index. Players without an official handicap index must submit a self-declared handicap that reasonably reflects their current playing ability. All self-declared handicaps are subject to review, adjustment, or rejection at the sole discretion of the Tournament Committee.
1.3 Handicap Application
All handicap calculations and applications will be administered through the GameBook App, which shall serve as the official scoring system for the competition.
2. Format of Play
2.1 Individual Stroke Play
The competition shall be played as individual stroke play over multiple rounds.
2.2 Scoring
- Gross Score: The actual number of strokes taken by a player.
- Net Score: Gross score adjusted by the player’s handicap.
2.3 Total Score
The aggregate score from all tournament rounds shall determine final standings.
3. Prizes & Winners
3.1 Categories of Prizes
Prizes shall be awarded in the following categories:
- Net (Handicap-Adjusted) Scores
- Gross (Scratch) Scores
Awards will be presented for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category.
3.2 Eligibility Restriction
Any player finishing in the top three Gross positions shall be ineligible to receive a Net prize.
3.3 Reallocation of Prizes
If a Gross prize winner would otherwise qualify for a Net prize, the Net prize shall be awarded to the next highest-ranking eligible player based on Gross score.
3.4 Committee Authority
The Tournament Committee shall have final authority in determining prize eligibility, score validation, and the interpretation or application of these Conditions of Competition.
4. Tie-Breaking Procedure
In the event of a tie for any Gross or Net prize position, ties shall be decided using the following methods in the order listed, applied to the aggregate score:
4.1 Last 9 Holes
The player with the lowest score for the final nine holes of the competition.
4.2 Last 6 Holes
If still tied, the lowest score for the final six holes.
4.3 Last 3 Holes
If still tied, the lowest score for the final three holes.
4.4 Final Hole
If still tied, the lowest score on the final hole.
4.5 Committee Decision
If a tie remains unresolved, the winner shall be determined by a scorecard playoff or method selected by the Tournament Committee, whose decision shall be final.
